Pneumatic Timers
Pneumatic Timers are intrinsically safe and can be used where no electrical power is available. They are also suitable for certain ATEX applications. Pneumatic Timers can be panel or surface mounted.
Range Overview
There are five designs to choose from.
The Kuhnke 54 Series pneumatic timer is the industry standard, often branded for Festo, Bosch or Norgren. This is a highly accurate pneumatic timer with +/-1% repeatability. Timing is fully adjustable throughout the timing range by a knob on the front dial face. It is equipped with a special 5/2 valve which provides for on or off delay timing (depending on plumbing connections). The front dial displays both set time and the time remaining in the cycle. Available in 6 time ranges with delays up to 100 hours
The Kuhnke 51 Series pneumatic mini-timer is an adjustable panel mounted time delay device (normally closed valve). Timing is set by adjusting the front dial. The timer is equipped with 2 vertical scales that indicate the set time and the time remaining in the cycle(countdown time). Only 2 M5 connections for simple installation. Choose from 4 time ranges up to 300 seconds.
This older style base mounted pneumatic timer is available with either an on delay (NC) or off delay (NO) 3/2 built-in valve. It is designed for mounting along with valves or other logic devices and is available with 10-32 (M5) bottom ports, or 1/8" NPT side ports. Bottom ported timers can also be panel mounted using (2) threaded M3 inserts on the top-cover. 6 models available up to 180 seconds delay. Time set only is displayed and may vary according to pressure. Sometimes referred to as a set up and forget timer. It is not accurate as the panel mounted devices which supercede this design.
The Kuhnke 53 Series pneumatic digital timers take a supply of compressed air and convert it into pulses which are then counted. There are 2 lines of display each 3 or 5 digits according to model. One line shows the current count in either seconds or minutes, the other shows the preset. On reaching the preset value the 3/2 N/C output valve switches. There are 4 models to choose from with M5 ports.
The Kuhnke PT series pneumatic timer is an older design widely used in the oil industry. It is unique in that it is the only pneumatic timer which operates on a "true off" principle. This means that when the control air supply is removed the delay process can begin. It uses an atmospheric decay system. Not as accurate as our other industrial products, but this unique quality combined with robustness makes it the only choice for certain specialist applications. Time delay ranges up to 60 minutes. NPT ports.
