AS-Interface (AS-i)
This is a two wire low level bus system. It was developed in Europe to connect PLC I/O to actuators and sensors, up to 992 on just one system. It has become more and more popular in automation systems, with the inclusion of ASi-safe, a system of safety monitors and sensors that operate off the same network.
There are very few products in the timer and counter range that include an ASi interface, because in part the PLC then performs the counting and timer logic.
